All true!!
There are many libraries –every library of which I’ve been the director or head of adult services — even have up-to-date VHS & DVD movie releases and in-depth movie collections, as well as Billboard Top 40 CDs and extensive music collections. In addition many local municipal libraries are members of either county systems or of larger consortia, through which movie and music are readily available by InterLibrary Loan.
In Butler, NJ our movie collection (free, 24-hour loan, $1.00 per day afterward) put the local Block Buster out of business.
