Patrons are the Funniest People
A woman asked me for help with the computers this afternoon. She was trying to apply for a job online, and the website wasn’t cooperating. While she wasn’t an internet whiz (she didn’t know she could tab from one field to the next, and instead would move the mouse to click on the next field), she clearly had the basics down. She entered the information she was supposed to enter, but when she clicked on the “Proceed” button to go to the next screen, the computer would slowly start to load and then hang halfway through. We were both getting frustrated, and at one point while we sat there staring at the monitor, sighing as the browser just hung there, she said, “What is this? AOL?”
And then I started laughing.
