    Happy belated from these quarters, too! (I was supposed to be born the day after Thanksgiving and didn’t make it out till 10 days before Christmas, and I’m still catching up.) Hope your birthday was splendiferous!

    Thanks, Laura! And a happy birthday to you, too! My birthday was indeed splendiferous. I got terrific presents, watched a long Doctor Who serial (“Inferno”) that was better than I remember it being (having last seen in 20 years ago), and my wife made a spectacular, delicious dinner and dessert. It was a heck of a day.
