ADDENDUM: Dorothea Salo has written an excruciatingly important post about combating sexism and misogyny. Having spent much of my life in Geekland, her post really hit home. I have often found myself voicing my objection to comments of the “I’d hit that” variety (and worse), and received the kinds of responses Dorothea talks about (”You’re overreacting! What’s the big deal? It’s just male smack talk.”). Dorothea’s post should be nailed up…well, pretty much everywhere. For right now, I’ll just link to it.  And join the chorus.
